ABOUT THE ARTIST

Malia Pila is a half-Hawaiian illustrator & visual development artist for animation.

After coming to the mainland and leaving her home in Hilo, Hawaii, she grew up in a multitude of different places, including Florida, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. She is now located in Austin, TX, with two loud puppies and a beloved scaredy-cat. Outside of a love for illustrating for children, she enjoys baking, studying historical fashion, Polynesian culture and general mythology, and experimenting with different artistic techniques and styles.
